"No Such Thing as Impossible" Fundraiser Bike Ride

With the support of local businessman, author, and philanthropist Jairo Alvarez, this bike ride helps raise much of the money we use to buy adapted bikes. Adults can register at www.active.com to participate in 10-mile, 46-mile or 74-mile rides, but kids of all ages and abilities are welcome to join us at noon for a ride around West Feliciana Sports Park. We will have a Freedom Concepts booth set up from 11am-1pm for more FREE adapted bike evaluations and demo rides, and we will do an informal ride for kids at noon. No pre-registration necessary for children.

Kids of all ages and abilities can compete in this annual bike race event held at LSU. For children with disabilities who do not yet have adapted bikes of their own, we have a variety available for use. FREE pre-registration is encouraged so all children can receive a medal.

Inaugural "No Such Thing As Impossible" Fund raising Bike Ride for Adults

Celebrating the birthday of Jairo Alvarez, author of No Such Thing As Impossible, over 100 riders pedaled either a 71 mile or 34 mile route along beautiful River Road starting in Baton Rouge, LA.

*** 28 children used their own adapted bike ***
*** 19 used a W2S adapted bike for the first time ***

off of Nicholson Dr. between the Nataorium and Track & Field


*** Everything is FREE***

-Children race in their respective age group
-All children must wear helmets; extras will be available to borrow if needed
-Pre-registration is encouraged

-Prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, & 3rd places for each age category
-Races are inclusive, regardless of ability level
-All pre-registered finishers will get a finishers award
-Snacks will be provided to all participants

Bike Demonstration Day 
The purpose of this event is for children with physical disabilities to try out adapted bikes, be evaluated for appropriate fit and needed adaptations, and learn bicycle safety.
